Altia's Grain processing Division annually uses about 170 million kilograms of Finnish Barley, representing about one tenth of the national harvest.  The Versatile production process makes it possible to recover all the elements from the barley.  The annual output of the Korskenkorva factory comprises 25 million litres of grain ethanol, 40 million kilograms of barley starch and 60 million kilograms of raw material for animal feeds.  the carbon dioxide given off in the fermentation process is recovered aswell.
The Korskenkorva factory is the fountainhead of Finlandia Vodka, Korskenkorvan Viina and Altia's other high-quality alcoholic beverages manufactured from grain ethanol.  The European Union has granted Altia's vodka products the appelation of origin: Vodka of Finland.  This guarantees the consumer that the vodka is entirely manufactured and bottled in Finland.
